Geopolitics of Climate and Energy

Global climate and energy realignments are reshaping power, technology, and finance. This programme helps Africa understand these shifts and act with foresight. We analyse emerging geopolitical trends, track negotiations, and assess how global decisions affect African interests. Our outputs — including geopolitical briefs, transition outlooks, and negotiation guides — equip policymakers with the intelligence needed to negotiate from a position of strength.

Transition Policy and Strategy Advisory

African countries need coherent strategies to navigate complex transition pathways. Through this programme, The Afriglobal Center provides advisory support to governments, regional institutions, and negotiators — helping them design policies, interpret global frameworks, and align national plans with emerging climate and energy realities. We deliver strategic advisory papers, policy notes, and toolkits tailored to real-time decision-making.

Transition Economics and Industrialisation

Africa’s development hinges on its ability to industrialise within a low-carbon, technology-driven global economy. This programme examines how the continent can harness renewable energy, critical minerals, and new value chains to accelerate industrial growth. We produce economic transition reports, sector studies, and analyses of Africa’s opportunities in green industrialisation.

Knowledge, Data, and Foresight Systems

Africa’s transition must be grounded in its own data and modelling capacity. The Afriglobal Center builds foresight systems that help leaders anticipate shocks, model scenarios, and prepare long-term strategies. Leadership and Diplomacy

The global transition will be shaped at negotiation tables and implementation platforms and Africa must be ready. This programme trains the next generation of African climate and energy negotiators, policy strategists, and diplomatic actors. We provide simulation exercises, leadership trainings, and roundtables designed to sharpen strategic thinking and enhance Africa’s voice on the global stage.

Climate Finance and Investment Intelligence

Access to finance will determine whether Africa’s transition ambitions are realised or remain aspirational. This programme focuses on strengthening Africa’s capacity to understand, influence, and mobilise climate and energy finance at scale. The Afriglobal Center analyses global climate finance flows, emerging funding instruments, and investment trends, translating them into practical guidance for African governments, regional institutions, and partners. The programme supports stronger engagement with multilateral funds, development finance institutions, private investors, and new transition finance mechanisms.
