The Afriglobal Center

The Afriglobal Center on Climate and Energy Transitions is an African think tank that bridges evidence, strategy, and diplomacy to ensure that Africa moves from the margins to the center of global transition decision-making. Through rigorous research and strategic engagement, The Afriglobal Center helps African actors navigate complexity, negotiate from strength, and lead with clarity.

Our purpose

Why Our Work Is Crucial

The world is undergoing profound transitions in climate, energy, technology, and geopolitics that are reshaping economies and reordering power. For Africa, these shifts present both risks and strategic opportunities.

How the continent navigates this moment will determine its place in the emerging global order. Despite being home to some of the world’s most abundant renewable energy resources and critical minerals, Africa’s role in global transition debates is currently limited. Decisions that affect its economies and communities are mostly made elsewhere, framed by external priorities.

The AfriGlobal Centre on Climate and Energy Transitions was established in 2025 to change that narrative, to equip African leaders, institutions, and partners with the strategic intelligence, foresight, and policy tools to shape, not just respond to, the global transition.

ACCET serves as a continental policy and strategy hub, connecting Africa’s perspectives to global processes in energy, climate, and development transitions. It bridges research and diplomacy, translating evidence into strategic influence.
